TN TECH MISSION TRIP TO INDIA, MAY 9 -20, 2014
Please pray for John Aaron Matthew, Collegiate Minister at TN Tech and the BCM students who are traveling to India to share the gospel. The students are going to the absolute ends of the earth to assist local believers and the International Mission Board in sharing the Good News of Jesus, making disciples and growing a church planting movement among unreached and unengaged people groups in India. This is the third trip for the TN Tech BCM and they have seen hundreds come to Christ and hundreds of churches being planted. Pray that their trip will be safe and fruitful!
Please pray for the BCM student leaders who will be attending the Intensive Leadership Training Weekend. It’s a great weekend where students from different campuses and different states come together to learn to be Christlike leaders, share resources, and encouragement as they seek to reach their own campus for Christ.
ETSU BCM OUTREACH
Through a joint venture with Christian university faculty we held an Easter Dinner for International students. We served a meal to the international student with the help of some American host students. We shared the American traditions of Easter; candy, eggs, bunnies … and sent them on an Easter egg hunt outside. As they returned and laugh and talked about the Easter egg hunt, we took the opportunity to share with them about the Biblical reason for Easter. We offered an invitation to become a Christian, while none responded to our invitation there were numerous international students that came up afterwards to ask questions about being a Christian.
During the months of March and April the BCM has had a program called Pizza by the Road. A partnership between ETSU BCM, Heritage Baptist church and layman Tim Haas, that has allowed us to bring pizza to students who pass in front of the BCM building. Tim has constructed a wood burning pizza oven on the bed of a truck so he can cook pizza anywhere, while people wait. This program has given us the opportunity to talk with many students about what a relationship to Jesus Christ means.
