Continue to pray for the results of ENGAGE 24. Pray as the students follow up on the conversations that were started. Pray for the students who accepted Christ as their Saviour and that they would get involved in a discipleship group to grow in their faith. Pray that the BCM students would be encouraging and would continue to grow in their faith as well.

Fall Break Mission Trip to St Louis, MO
This year, the BCM at Vanderbilt Place travelled to St. Louis, Missouri for our Fall SPOTS trip from October 9th-13th. We were blessed with the opportunity to work with and encourage a variety of organizations who do amazing things in the St. Louis area. At The Bridge Ministry, we helped clean their building and also had the chance to sit down and fellowship with the homeless people they help. At Lydia’s house, a shelter for abused women and their children, we helped clean renovated apartments and heard the beautiful testimony of a woman who works there. For two afternoons, the entire group went to Riverview Youth Center and helped with neighborhood cleanup and also played with the kids who go there for afterschool care. We also had opportunities to work with the Rock Church, St. Patrick Center, North Grand Neighborhood Services, and Stella Maris Child Center.
We fit a lot of service into four days, and we also had amazing opportunities to explore St. Louis—we adventured through The City Museum, visited the arch, had frozen custard at Ted Drewe’s, and ate a delicious home-cooked meal at the home of one of our BCM students who’s from St. Louis. We were also incredibly blessed to stay and use the facilities at Maplewood Baptist Church for our time in St. Louis.
We really had the chance to see how short term missions can be done effectively on this trip, and we had the chance to encourage those who do long term work in the city. Our group also grew as a community and family over the course of the four days as we worked alongside one another to spread God’s love through our service projects.
